DEX - A Tetris and Rubik's Mashup, made with Unity3D 5

Hey there, been a while since I've been on the forum and I see it's as active as ever ;)

Take a look at a new title I've just popped out on Android, it's a mashup of two classics and I would appreciate some feedback.

    Your trailer doesn't really show what the consequences for failure are, so I'm not actually sure what the player is doing (or trying to avoid). Why do the blocks that are falling just disappear? Are there times when they don't disappear? Is there some sort of way that blocks interact with each other so that things like combos can happen, etc?

    I'm asking because it looks really slick otherwise - it's obvious you've put a bunch of thought into how to display where the blocks are going to land and which ones are coming next, but I'm not actually sure what effects things have.

    Thanks for the feedback, if the brick lands on a colour that doesn't match you die and you need to restart the level. I will include a death sequence in the trailer maybe, or some commentary?

  • Cool game. Its a good concept and I like the animations all over.

    But the game is too difficult too soon. I could not complete level 2 on multiple retries. You should probably ease the new colours in steadily over levels. Also the blocks fall too fast from the top. I can understand this on later levels, but at the starting levels you should let the player win easily.

    Also when selecting a level, the level loads but you don't indicate it. A spinner or some text "loading..." will help.

    And when the level fails you should have an instant retry button, rather than sending the player back to the home screen.
